Filem terbaharu di Netflix, berdasarkan kisah hidup Marilyn Monroe dan diberi tajuk Blonde, dilaporkan telah diberikan penarafan NC-17 oleh Motion Picture Association of America untuk tayangan nanti.
Penarafan NC-17 diberikan kepada filem Blonde kerana dikategorikan mempunyai beberapa adegan seksula, . Manakala berikut pula adalah penjelasan penuh untuk penarafan NC-17 :
"An NC-17 rated film is one that, in the view of the Rating Board, most parents would consider patently too adult for children 17 and under. Nobody under the age of 18 is admitted in any circumstance. NC-17 does not mean "obscene" or "pornographic" in the common or legal meaning of those words, and should not be construed as a negative judgment in any sense. This rating just simply signals that the content is appropriate only for an adult audience (ages 18 and above). The majority of films rated NC-17 receive this rating due to their explicit sexual content. NC-17 films almost never get a wide release in the United States and are often tied with commercial failure due to the refusal to be stocked by major retailers or have advertisements shown on television. It means: No One 17 And Under Admitted. This sets the NC-17 rating apart from other restricted adult ratings such as the BBFC's 18 or manga's M (though not legally resticted), which are widely used; for this reason, most films that receive roughly equivalent ratings from other systems are Rated R".
Watak Marilyn Monroe dalam filem Blonde dilakonkan oleh Ana de Armas, dan dijangka akan ditayangkan dalam tahun ini di saluran penstriman Netflix.
Blonde ditulis dan diarahkan oleh Andrew Dominik, dan berdasarkan novel dengan tajuk sama hasil karya Joyce Carol Oates yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2000. Penghasilan filem Blonde telah dibangunkan sejak 2012 lagi dengan Naomi Watts dan Jessica Chastain tersenarai sebagai calon pelakon utama, sebelum beralih tangan kepada Ana de Armas. Selain Ana, barisan pelakon yang telah disahkan adalah seperti Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Bobby Cannavale, Caspar Phillipson dan Toby Hus.
